goodlabs syndromic surveillance system (alpha) is going live with JNMC
At GoodLabs, we are committed to using advanced software engineering to do great things, amazing things. We are thrilled to partner with The Department of Medicine and Neurosciences of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) to conduct a study on Novel data-driven disease detection and real-time disease outbreak prediction.
Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College is one of the best medical colleges in India and seeks to be a global centre of excellence in health education. Dr. Sunil Kumar and Dr. Sourya Acharya, professor and the head of the Department of Medicine and Neurosciences of JNMC, relentlessly foster interdisciplinary research by collaborating with international organizations to improve health outcomes.
“JNMC is excited to work closely with GoodLabs Studio to advance syndromic surveillance. We are delighted to be the first health clinic to test GoodLabs’ Syndrome Anomaly Detection System in a real-world deployment.” said Dr. Acharya.
Thomas Lo, CEO of GoodLabs Studio, echoes Dr. Acharya’s comments. “We are fortunate to have an opportunity to work closely with Drs. Sunil and Acharya and his team at JNMC. This project is the most challenging one we have ever taken on. Our team has been working tirelessly to use natural language processing on edge in a mobile device to automate outbreak detection from live patient-physician conversations. We are pushing the boundary to start our first real-world deployment in just phase 2 of our Department of National Defence of Canada funded project. There is so much to learn in front of us. We thank Drs. Acharya, Sunil Kumar, and their team at JNMC for giving us this precious opportunity to create a better world.”
